It hasn't happened since I upgraded the firmware. Not sure if it was a coincidence or not. John Gear List: More than I should have for a 'hobby' LOG IN TO REPLY |

If you ever try to get service they will insist you update the firmware first. You should always load the latest firmware - after its been on the market a bit. There are lots of undocumented changes that improve the performance of your camera. Walt 400D, 5D, 7D and a bag of stuff LOG IN TO REPLY |

Its been a very long time since I updated my XTi firmware but I can tell you that it did fix something very important (just can't quite remember what that was anymore). LOG IN TO REPLY |

AHHHHHHh then i'm not even thinking about doing it. last time I did that to upgrade a CPU the new bios wouldn't work with my RAM. had to get 4gb of new ram, lucky my render node ram worked and I was able to swap. every time I've done it it solved one problem and created 5. Except that every XTi is exactly the same unlike PCs. And the XTi's last firmware release has been out for ages so there are no surprises lurking there. LOG IN TO REPLY |
